"I had heard about acupuncture before, but to be honest, I was a little afraid of trying another new thing to relieve the pain of my torn meniscus while avoiding surgery.

I wasn’t sure if it would work because I have always taken medicine for pain (I’ve lived with rheumatoid arthritis for 13 years and hypothyroidism for 18years). My long-term goal is to go natural and get off my medicines. So, when I was told about Dr. Babu I was at a point in my life where I would do anything I could for comfort and no more pain. I wanted to feel better physically and emotionally. I needed a change in my life! I figured, what do I have to lose? I’ll try it.

I started to see Dr. Michaela M. Babu in hopes that she could help me with the severe pain on my knee.

I started my first acupuncture treatments shortly after I got a gel injection from my doctor (instead of surgery). I was committed to doing anything I could not to have that surgery. After a couple of months of acupuncture treatments, my knee pain was gone. Not only was my knee pain gone, but she also treated me for my RA and Thyroid. I was amazed with the results, not only was my knee pain gone but so were my flare-ups from RA. I was able to get off medicine that I was on for 13 years. These were 2 very strong medicines with very adverse side effects.

You start with the needles inserted into your skin; needles you don’t even feel. In a dim room with aromatherapy and soft meditation music in the background you become so relaxed in your thoughts that you fall into what we call an accu-coma,  a state of relaxation so profound that its almost like an out of body experience. I’ve found it’s hard to get up after – it’s so relaxing.

Dr. Babu has this calming effect on everyone she meets, She is a walking encyclopedia of information about how to heal your body and transform your mind without medication, but through acupuncture, diet and meditation.

I am so happy to have met her, you will be too… I truly think no-one should go through life suffering with pain without experiencing acupuncture.
